Nespresso-compatible capsules make espresso conveniently at home or in the office. A few small habits—flushing the machine, warming the cup and avoiding an overly long extraction—can make the cup taste cleaner and more balanced.
Choose your capsule: try Mix Berry Nespresso-compatible capsules for a light-bodied, fruit-forward cup, or Black Forest Nespresso-compatible capsules for dark chocolate, cocoa and nutty notes. Both are for Nespresso Original-line machines.
Before you brew
- Flush the machine. Run a small amount of water without a capsule. This warms the brewing path and rinses away old coffee residue.
- Warm your cup. Use some of that hot water to warm the cup, then empty and dry it.
- Use fresh water. Refill the tank with fresh drinking water rather than water that has been sitting in the machine.
How to get a better espresso
- Insert the capsule and place the warmed cup centrally under the outlet.
- Start with the machine’s espresso setting rather than the long-coffee setting. A very long extraction can dilute the cup and bring out more bitterness.
- Taste before adding milk or sugar. If the cup tastes too strong, add a small amount of hot water afterward rather than running much more water through the capsule next time.
- Eject the used capsule after brewing and rinse the cup tray regularly.
Which flavour suits your cup?
For a fruit-forward black coffee: Mix Berry brings mixed berry, ripe plum and zesty orange notes in a light-bodied cup.
For chocolate notes or coffee with milk: Black Forest offers dark chocolate, cocoa and nutty notes. Its richer profile is a natural place to start if you enjoy a fuller-tasting cup.
